"DIPLOMACY ON THE MENU"
Welcome to the Diplomacy on the Menu!
"Diplomacy on the Menu" is a series of events organised in Brussels, which present the gastronomy of different regions around Europe.
Food cultures around the globe unify people. As the organisers of the "Diplomacy on the Menu", we wish to underline the similarities and the richness arising from interaction between cultures. As our hashtag indicates, we are all #UnifiedByFood.
This year, we aim to gather diplomats, officials from European and international institutions, firms and stakeholders based in Brussels. The event will be organised at the 28th of September 2021, in Brussels with the concept of mediterranean food. The event will also have a cook-it-own VIP workshop. Participation is free of charge. Invitation and registration are required.
Our partners for 2021 consist of the EU-Turkey Friendship Group, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Directorate for EU Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Permanent Representation of the Republic of Turkey to the EU, Yunus Emre Institute and ECOPNET (European Cooperation and Partnership Network).
The event will host a VIP cook-it-own workshop with the lead of Chef Giovanni Terracciano. The participants will finalise a half-prepared meal, using different materials from the Mediterrenean coasts around a table with the instructions of the chef to underline the unity and similarity of the Mediterrenean region.
Chef Giovanni Terracciano is a 25 years long professional chef, who has worked on fine dining, banqueting and catering as well as special menu creation, food cost analysis, budgeting, inventory, purchasing, and training the kitchen staff in high level hotels, restaurants and events. Chef Giovanni Terracciano holds vast experience on Italian and international cuisines, including the Mediterrenean cuisine. He currently works as the multi-property executive chef of Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler and Sheraton Istanbul Hotels. His mother tongue is Italian and he is fluent in English and Turkish. Chef Giovanni Terracciano will lead the workshop in English.
